Vera Walker has never quite fit in with the rest of her small Vermont town. Her adoptive parents and two younger brothers always show how much they love her, and her best friend, Atticus Wells, keeps telling her how special she is. Still, there seems to be something missing in her life.

I just finished this novel yesterday, and I fell in love with the characters (especially Atticus). I could feel connected to the characters and their emotions. It's a great young adult novel and I look forward for reading more by Caela. Highly recommend this story.
Great story! So many classic literature references and the story has so much heart!
I've read several drafts of this novel, from its original incarnation seven years ago to the final published version today. It's a quick and exciting read for young adult and adult readers. My seventh grade students even read and greatly enjoyed the manuscript last spring, as the book went into its final stages of publication. I would highly recommend this book for ages ten through adult. It's written in accessible language for younger, struggling readers (I'd approximate a fifth grade reading level) but the content is exciting and fast moving enough to capture attention of older readers as well. The characters are dynamic and relatable, and the action keeps the reader on their toes!! I strongly recommend this book!

The initial fear of "just another teen romance" is QUICKLY squashed!!! I absolutely loved the twists and turns, and was NOT expecting the ending! Fantastically written, hooked me into a one sitting read
